Having once been on a dating site myself, I heard that comment from many men. I guess it’s because they still wished they looked like they did ten or more years ago. I find it deceiving to post such pictures. There a woman is, looking for someone to date & she can’t be honest from the get go? Doesn’t she realize that the truth will come out once they meet, that is if they ever do? Men were also good at posting their graduation photos from the 50′s & 60′s, & the current year was 2004. That sent up red flags right away! What were they hiding? References :
It’s a stupid move. Just about as stupid as guys who post 10-year-old pictures of themselves with less belly and more hair. And guys who lie about their height (i.e., 5’6" guys who say they are 5’9"). References :

Maybe for the same reason pictures of food in restaurants always look so much better than what is on your plate. It is to get you interested enough to try it.
