Storing fat is a result of the need to survive when we were cavemen and cave women. People who stored fat were superior to those who could not. the skinny runts would die when winter came. The modern availability of food made it possible for the inferior to live. Most likely because America is inexplicably obsessed with image- due to the invasive nature of our media, reality television, the seemingly ‘perfect’ nature of celebrities, and cosmetic surgery. The standards that men put on women’s appearances in america are higher than those of other countries because we’re such a transient nation- we move, change jobs, change relationships at the drop of a hat- so our image is our only calling card. In other countries, there is less of an emphasis on the physical appearance (not that beautiful women aren’t sought after!) because people are more stable. So a woman with a terrible personality but was thin and beautiful would have a harder time getting a date in Holland than in the U.S. (This explains the pretty girls on international dating sites) Because the standards are higher, overweight girls in america are less likely to be in a relationship because that is all they are judged on (This explains the overweight girls on american dating sites.) I’ve only looked at American dating sites, and I don’t usually look at the women. Maybe you could tell me why most of the men are so umm……unfortunate-looking. At least they could take a better picture. I would advise you to only date people you find reasonably attractive, but don’t be too picky or judgemental. You might pass up the love of your life.
